Savor the Best Philly Cheesesteak Pasta You’ll Ever Make
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz Penne or Rigatoni
- 1 lb Ground Beef or Steak Strips
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 cup Green Bell Pepper
- 1 medium Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- 1 cup Beef Broth
- 1 cup Provolone Cheese
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 9-11 minutes. Drain and return to the pot to keep warm.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper, sautéing for about 4-5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic for the last minute.
- Add the ground beef or steak strips to the skillet. Cook until fully browned, about 6-8 minutes for ground beef or 4-5 minutes for steak. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix in the softened cream cheese and beef broth, stirring until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency by adding more broth if needed.
- Gently fold the cooked pasta into the creamy mixture. Sprinkle provolone cheese over the top, then broil for 3-5 minutes until bubbly.
- Let it cool briefly before serving. Enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Pasta garnished with fresh parsley or Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- Consider whole wheat or gluten-free pasta for lighter options.
- Swap with ground turkey or plant-based meat for lighter or vegetarian dishes.
- Canola or vegetable oil works as substitutes if needed.
- You can use red or yellow bell pepper for a sweeter touch.
- Shallots make a great substitution for a milder flavor.
- Neufchâtel cheese can offer a lower-fat alternative.
- Vegetable or chicken broth can be used for a lighter taste.
- Mozzarella or cheddar are excellent options for different flavors.
