Description

Savor the Best Philly Cheesesteak Pasta You’ll Ever Make

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz Penne or Rigatoni
  • 1 lb Ground Beef or Steak Strips
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 cup Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 cup Provolone Cheese

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 9-11 minutes. Drain and return to the pot to keep warm.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper, sautéing for about 4-5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic for the last minute.
  3. Add the ground beef or steak strips to the skillet. Cook until fully browned, about 6-8 minutes for ground beef or 4-5 minutes for steak. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Mix in the softened cream cheese and beef broth, stirring until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency by adding more broth if needed.
  5. Gently fold the cooked pasta into the creamy mixture. Sprinkle provolone cheese over the top, then broil for 3-5 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Let it cool briefly before serving. Enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Pasta garnished with fresh parsley or Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • Consider whole wheat or gluten-free pasta for lighter options.
  • Swap with ground turkey or plant-based meat for lighter or vegetarian dishes.
  • Canola or vegetable oil works as substitutes if needed.
  • You can use red or yellow bell pepper for a sweeter touch.
  • Shallots make a great substitution for a milder flavor.
  • Neufchâtel cheese can offer a lower-fat alternative.
  • Vegetable or chicken broth can be used for a lighter taste.
  • Mozzarella or cheddar are excellent options for different flavors.
