  • 1 cup Hot Water
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 0.5 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until well blended.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients while mixing on low speed until just combined.

  6. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

  10. To prepare the frosting, beat the cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  11. Frost the top of one cake layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the entire cake.
