Delicious Glutinous Rice Balls (Tang Yuan) for Sweet Moments
Ingredients

- 200 grams glutinous rice flour
- 50 grams icing sugar
- 150 milliliters hot boiling water
- 1 teaspoon blue food color (use sparingly)
- 1 teaspoon red food color (use sparingly)
- 1 teaspoon green food color (use sparingly)
- 100 grams yellow rock sugar
- 500 milliliters water
- 3 pieces pandan leaves (tied in a knot)
- 3 slices ginger
Instructions
- Combine the glutinous rice flour and icing sugar in a mixing bowl until well mixed.
- Slowly pour in the hot boiling water while stirring the mixture and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small pieces, about the size of a marble, and roll into balls.
- In a pot, combine water, yellow rock sugar, pandan leaves, and ginger slices.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.
- Drop the shaped glutinous rice balls into the broth and cook until they float to the top, about 5-8 minutes.
