This easy crockpot BBQ pulled chicken recipe is a weeknight lifesaver. Tender, saucy chicken made with minimal effort, perfect for sandwiches or serving a crowd.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  3. Pour sauce mixture over chicken, ensuring it’s coated.
  4. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until chicken is tender.
  5. Remove chicken, shred with two forks, and return to the slow cooker with the sauce.
