This easy crockpot BBQ pulled chicken recipe is a weeknight lifesaver. Tender, saucy chicken made with minimal effort, perfect for sandwiches or serving a crowd.

- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Place chicken in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Pour sauce mixture over chicken, ensuring it’s coated.
- Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until chicken is tender.
- Remove chicken, shred with two forks, and return to the slow cooker with the sauce.
- Toss to coat and serve hot.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking on HIGH.
- The sauce mixture can be prepared the night before and stored in the refrigerator.
