Description

Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites are succulent salmon pieces, coated and fried to golden perfection, tossed in a spicy-sweet Bang Bang sauce. This dish is a party on a plate, offering a delightful combination of crispy textures and bold flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillet, skin removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon cubes dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up a dredging station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat each salmon cube first in flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat generously with panko breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is well-covered for that crispy Bang Bang Salmon texture.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, sweet chili sauce, honey, and garlic powder to create the Bang Bang sauce. Set aside.
  5. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully add the breaded salmon cubes to the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. This step is key for crispy Bang Bang Salmon.
  7. Remove the crispy salmon bites from the skillet and place them on a wire rack set over a baking sheet to drain excess oil.
  8. Once all salmon bites are fried, gently toss them in the prepared Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated. This makes them truly crispy Bang Bang Salmon.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy your crispy Bang Bang Salmon!

Notes

  • For an air fryer version, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Spray the breaded salmon with cooking oil and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy. Toss with sauce.
  • Adjust sriracha and honey quantities in the sauce to suit your spice and sweetness preference for your crispy Bang Bang Salmon.
  • Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature for the crispiest results.
