Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Cane Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Walnuts
  • 1 cup Dried Cranberries
  • 1 cup Milk or White Chocolate
  • 8 ounces Dark Chocolate
  • 1 cup Crushed Peppermint Candy Canes
  • 1 cup Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Vanilla Dough: Cream the softened unsalted butter and both sugars until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and salt. Gradually blend in the all-purpose flour.
  2. Flavor the Vanilla Dough: Divide the dough and fold in walnuts and cranberries in one half, and milk or white chocolate in the other. Shape into logs, wrap in plastic, and chill for 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Prepare Chocolate Dough: Cream the butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Melt the dark chocolate and mix it in. Gradually add flour, vanilla extract, and salt.
  4. Flavor the Chocolate Dough: Fold in crushed peppermint candy canes. Shape into logs and chill for the same duration.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice logs into ½” to 1” thick pieces and arrange on a baking sheet. Bake for 12-16 minutes until edges are set. Let cool before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. Optional: Sprinkle with extra crushed candy canes after baking.
