Description

Deliciously sweet and comforting, candied sweet potatoes are a perfect side dish for any holiday meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, combine sweet potatoes, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Add water and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Reduce heat and let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Transfer sweet potatoes to a baking dish and pour the syrup over the top.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until sweet potatoes are tender and the sauce is bubbly.
