Description

Easy baked tortellini with sausage, marinara, and melted cheese. It is a no-brain-power, weeknight-saving dinner that’s comforting, fast, and totally foolproof.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ pound Italian sausage (casings removed)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Cook tortellini in salted boiling water for 2 minutes less than the package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet or pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Remove casings from sausage. Add the sausage to the pan and break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Continue until the sausage is browned and cooked through. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add marinara sauce to the sausage and stir to combine. Add the cooked tortellini and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan over the top. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil if using, and serve hot!
