Easy baked tortellini with sausage, marinara, and melted cheese. It is a no-brain-power, weeknight-saving dinner that’s comforting, fast, and totally foolproof.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
- ½ pound Italian sausage (casings removed)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- Fresh basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Cook tortellini in salted boiling water for 2 minutes less than the package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large oven-safe skillet or pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Remove casings from sausage. Add the sausage to the pan and break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Continue until the sausage is browned and cooked through. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Add marinara sauce to the sausage and stir to combine. Add the cooked tortellini and toss to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan over the top. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil if using, and serve hot!
