Description

Enjoy a delightful blend of sweet, savory, and slightly spicy flavors with Sticky Ginger Beef Mince, perfect for a quick dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g Beef Mince
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 1 Red Chili, finely sliced (optional)
  • 0.25 cup Soy Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 0.25 cup Beef Stock
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • 2 Spring Onions, sliced for garnish
  • Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the beef mince, cooking until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  2. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same pan. Toss in the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, and optional chili. Sauté for about 3–4 minutes until the onion turns translucent and fragrant.
  3. Lower the heat and return the cooked beef mince to the pan. Mix it well with the sautéed onion, garlic, and ginger.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and beef stock. Pour this mixture over the beef, stirring to coat everything.
  5. Allow the mixture to simmer for around 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.
  6. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Transfer the sticky beef to a serving dish and sprinkle with sliced spring onions and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve hot, pairing with rice or noodles to soak up the sauce.
