- 1 cup Red Candy Melts, melted (optional)
- 1 cup Green Candy Melts, melted (optional)
- 1 cup Nonpareil Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cream softened butter for 1-1.5 minutes until creamy.
- Add granulated sugar and mix for another minute until well combined.
- Incorporate the egg, vanilla flavoring, and almond extract, blending until smooth.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour on low speed, mixing just until incorporated. Do not overmix.
- Press the spritz cookie dough into a cookie press with your desired disk shape.
- Press the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8 minutes, or until the edges are just set.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Melt red and green candy melts in separate heat-safe bowls, stirring every minute until fully melted.
- Dip each cookie halfway into the melted candy melts.
- Place the dipped cookies on parchment paper and sprinkle with nonpareils, if using.
- Allow the candy melts to set before serving.

- For best results, use softened butter, not melted.
- Avoid overmixing the flour to keep the cookies tender.
