Description

Fancy-looking bite-sized spinach dip pinwheels made with flaky puff pastry and creamy spinach filling, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 (10 oz) bag frozen chopped spinach — thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese — room temperature
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan — freshly grated
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry — thawed but cold
  • 1 egg + splash of water — beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add Parmesan, mayo, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until combined.
  2. Squeeze the thawed spinach until it releases no water. Add it to the bowl and fold until evenly distributed.
  3. Lightly flour your counter and roll the puff pastry into a rectangle, leaving one long edge clear. Spread the spinach filling over the pastry, leaving that edge bare.
  4. Tightly roll the pastry like a jelly roll from the long side. Press the seam to seal, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Unwrap and slice the log into 1/2-inch rounds. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Whisk the egg with a splash of water and brush the tops. Bake for 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden. Cool briefly before serving.
