Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a cupcake pan with Halloween-themed liners.
- Whisk together all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Combine wet ingredients in a separate bowl and pour into dry ingredients, stirring gently.
- Add boiling hot water gradually, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Fill cupcake liners about three-quarters full and bake for about 25 minutes.
- Cool the cupcakes in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Make the frosting by creaming softened unsalted butter and gradually adding sifted powdered sugar.
- Divide frosting into bowls and tint with gel food colors.
- Decorate cooled cupcakes with frosting and craft Oreo bats.
- Insert assembled Oreo bats into frosted cupcakes just before serving.
