Description

Savory Korean Marinated Eggs That Elevate Any Meal

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Eggs (Soft-boiled)
  • 2 tsp Salt (For flavor and peeling)
  • 2 tbsp Vinegar (For easier peeling)
  • 6 cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • 2 pieces Korean Green Pepper (Chopped)
  • 1 piece Red Chili (Optional, chopped)
  • 3 pieces Green Onion (Optional, chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds (For garnish)
  • 1 cup Soy Sauce (Base for the marinade)
  • ½ cup Honey (Balance sweetness)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil (Optional, adds richness)
  • ½ cup Water (To dilute the marinade)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Eggs: In a pot, cover the eggs with water, adding salt and vinegar. Bring to a simmer, and gently cook for 6 minutes.
  2. Cool Eggs: Transfer the eggs to ice water for at least 10 minutes to prevent overcooking.
  3. Make Marinade: Combine garlic, green peppers, optional red chili and green onions, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and water in a container.
  4. Marinate Eggs: Peel the cooled eggs and place them in the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated.
  5. Rest Eggs: Refrigerate the eggs in the marinade for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight.
  6. Serve: Enjoy the eggs chilled or at room temperature, possibly with hot rice.
