Ingredients

  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, to the butter-sugar mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Take small portions of dough and roll them into balls. Flatten each ball to form a disc and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the shapes.
  8. Place the heart-shaped cookies on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
