- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, to the butter-sugar mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Take small portions of dough and roll them into balls. Flatten each ball to form a disc and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the shapes.
- Place the heart-shaped cookies on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
