Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large Eggs
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Spicy Brown Deli Mustard
- 1/4 cup Sour Cream
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 large Red Bell Pepper
Instructions
- Boil the eggs: Place six large eggs in a pot of cool water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for about 20 minutes.
- Cool and peel: Transfer the boiled eggs to ice-cold water for 5-10 minutes. Gently tap each egg on a hard surface and peel carefully.
- Slice and hollow: Cut each egg in half horizontally. Carefully scoop out the yolks into a mixing bowl, avoiding damage to the egg white halves.
- Prepare the filling: Pass the yolks through a mesh strainer for a smoother consistency. Mix in mayonnaise, sour cream, spicy mustard, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Prepare the decorations: Using a sharp knife, carefully cut and shape the red bell pepper into wings and horns.
- Assemble the deviled eggs: Pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves. Attach the red pepper wings and horns to create the Halloween deviled egg design.
Notes
- For a smoother filling, use a mesh strainer.
- Assemble the deviled eggs no more than 30 minutes before serving.
- Store the egg whites and filling separately in the refrigerator for up to 1 day if preparing ahead.
- Freezing is not recommended as it can alter the texture.
- Garnish with paprika for extra color.
