Description

Gordon Ramsay’s Chicken Cordon Bleu is a delicious blend of chicken, Swiss cheese, and ham, topped with creamy Dijon sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large Chicken Breasts (boneless, skinless, pound to even thickness)
  • 4 slices Swiss Cheese (creamy melt and nutty flavor)
  • 46 slices Ham (good-quality for maximum flavor)
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs (deliciously crispy exterior)
  • 1 egg or Mayo (binds the coating beautifully)
  • 2 tsp Flour (alternative option)
  • 3 tbsp Mayo (alternative option)
  • 1.5 tbsp Dijon (alternative option)
  • 1.5 tbsp Butter (unsalted for better seasoning)
  • 1.5 tbsp Flour (thickens the sauce)
  • 1.25 cups Milk (any milk or plant-based alternative)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard (adds tangy punch)
  • 3 tbsp Grated Parmesan (freshly grated for flavor)

Instructions

  1. Start by pounding the chicken breasts to an even thickness. This ensures even cooking. Layer the ham and Swiss cheese on each breast, then roll them up tightly. Secure with toothpicks if necessary.
  2. Dip each chicken roll in the egg mixture or mayo, allowing excess to drip off. Then, roll them in the panko breadcrumbs, ensuring they’re thoroughly coated for maximum crunch.
  3. Place the coated chicken on a greased baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 25-30 minutes.
  4. While the chicken bakes, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth, then gradually add milk while stirring to avoid lumps. Mix in Dijon mustard and grated Parmesan, simmer until creamy and thickened.
  5. Once the chicken is done, take it out of the oven. Slice each roll and drizzle generously with the creamy Dijon sauce. Enjoy!
