Description

Easy Homemade Garlic Knots

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the salt and olive oil, then stir in the flour until a dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into equal pieces. Roll each piece into a knot shape.
  6. Place knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. In a bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Brush this mixture over the warm knots.
  9. Sprinkle with salt before serving.
