Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ½ cup eggnog
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg yolk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and eggnog until combined.
  4. Gradually add in the flour and baking soda; mix until just combined.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls and roll them in cinnamon-sugar.
  6. Place on a lined baking sheet and press your thumb in the center to create an indentation.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  8. For the frosting, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth; adjust consistency as needed.
  9. Once cooled, pipe or spread the frosting onto each cookie.
