- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 cup Cold Unsalted Butter
- 5 tablespoons Cold Water
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 pound Italian Sausage
- 1 cup Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 can Crushed Tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 cup Pepperoni
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a deep 9-inch pie dish.
- Roll out your dough until it’s about 1/8 inch thick. Fit it into the pie dish, prick the base with a fork, and blind-bake for 7–8 minutes.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Once it’s no longer pink, add the Italian sausage and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic with the meat, stirring in the Italian seasoning, then mix in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste.
- Start with a layer of pizza sauce at the bottom, followed by half of the meat mixture, a generous layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese, and pepperoni. Repeat layering.
- Place your assembled pie on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- After baking, remove the pie and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
- Slice into wedges and serve with a fresh side salad or garlic bread.
