Description

Delightful Deep Hamburger Sausage & Pepperoni Pie, a perfect blend of pizza and casserole, packed with flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 cup Cold Unsalted Butter
  • 5 tablespoons Cold Water
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 pound Italian Sausage
  • 1 cup Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 can Crushed Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Pepperoni
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a deep 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Roll out your dough until it’s about 1/8 inch thick. Fit it into the pie dish, prick the base with a fork, and blind-bake for 7–8 minutes.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Once it’s no longer pink, add the Italian sausage and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic with the meat, stirring in the Italian seasoning, then mix in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste.
  5. Start with a layer of pizza sauce at the bottom, followed by half of the meat mixture, a generous layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese, and pepperoni. Repeat layering.
  6. Place your assembled pie on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. After baking, remove the pie and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
  8. Slice into wedges and serve with a fresh side salad or garlic bread.

Notes

  • Substitute whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
  • Using lean beef (85–90%) maximizes flavor.
  • Feel free to substitute with turkey sausage for a lighter dish.
  • Fresh garlic and onion deliver better taste.
  • Adjust crushed red pepper flakes to your heat preference.
