Description
These Banana Cinnamon Dumplings with Choc Nutella Sauce are a decadent dessert featuring crispy fried wontons filled with warm, spiced banana and topped with a luscious chocolate Nutella sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tbsp White sugar
- 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1 Medium banana, cut into 1 cm pieces
- 16 Wonton wrappers
- 1 Egg, lightly beaten
- Vegetable oil, for deep-frying
- 100 g Dark chocolate, roughly chopped
- 2 tbsp Nutella
- 1/4 cup Pure cream
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Set aside 1 teaspoon of the mixture and use it to coat the chopped banana pieces.
- Working with four wonton wrappers at a time, place a heaped teaspoon of the banana mixture in the center of each wrapper. Brush the edges with beaten egg and fold diagonally to form a triangle, pressing firmly to seal. Bring the two opposite corners together, dab with egg, and pinch to secure.
- Heat about 5 cm of vegetable oil in a wok or deep pan to 180°C. Fry the dumplings in batches for 1 minute per side or until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel-lined tray and toss in the remaining cinnamon sugar while still warm.
- For the Choc Nutella Sauce, combine dark chocolate, Nutella, and cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 1 minute, stirring halfway through, until melted and smooth.
- Drizzle the warm chocolate sauce over the dumplings and serve immediately.
