Delicious Apple Pie Jam Recipe for Cozy Fall Canning


Ingredients

  • 6 Peeled and Diced Apples
  • 2 cups Apple Juice
  • 1 small Lemon (Zest and juice)
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons Powdered Pectin
  • 1.5 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground Cardamom
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 3 cups Granulated Sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, mix together the diced apples, apple juice, lemon zest and juice, apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes until apples are tender.
  3. Stir in the warm spices and vanilla, then gradually add the powdered pectin while stirring.
  4. Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a full rolling boil.
  5. Add all of the sugar at once, maintaining a rolling boil for 1 minute while stirring continuously.
  6. Ladle the hot jam into 5 half-pint jars, leaving headspace at the top.
  7. Remove air bubbles by running a knife around the edges, clean the jar rims, and seal with new lids.
  8. Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes, adjusting for altitude if necessary.
  9. Let your jars cool undisturbed at room temperature for 24 hours.
